Welcome to Sew SuzyQ

This blog is devoted to the creation of sewing wearable art in purses, tote bags, aprons, pet paraphernalia, garment bags, belts and so on. Sometimes our designs are created from fabrics hot from purchase and other times, from our stash that constantly grows (we'd like it to shrink!). The we is my mother, Marilyn, and I. Sewing is our outlet from the overwhelming mass produced products found in your favorite department stores. In addition, we also design some projects from recycled jeans, clothes, buttons, jewelry, and other doodads found from previous visits to estate sales, garage sales, and even our own closets.

  2. I had no idea you knew how to sew. I don't really know all that much about sewing but I did have the guts to try. I remember I sewed 4 pillows for my girlfriend. The first one was a complete disaster, I don't know why she still kept it. The second one was a little bit better but it still had some pieces falling off and some of the cotton was seeping through. The third one was pretty good; it wasn't gushing out it's "intrails". The fourth and last one is definetly my favorite. It was "perfect". I used one of my old pair of jeans and added some squares that I cut out of another old pair of black jeans and made it look like a chess board. I'll see if I can take a picture of them and put them on my next comment.
