Our next project to sew is a very important one. My cousin, Kimberly needs a Mother-of-the-Bride dress for May 21. Her daughter Kayla is marrying Chris and will have a spectacular wedding. More about the wedding later. Now for some photos which may have pieces we are looking for as we design the dress.I found this photo by following http://lemodablog.blogspot.com/ who follows http://seaofshoes.typepad.com/sea_of_shoes/. The dresses were photos from a Paris ball that blogger Jane was invited to attend. Talk about successful blogging. Read her story to find out.
My interest right now is the green dress on the right. I am looking at the top and the waist line as possible choices. Not the color for Kim, but definitely for me. I wore a dress almost like the one on the left to one of Obama's Inauguaral Balls. (more later on that).

Lanvin Fashion The Video
Last but not least, enjoy this show video preview of the Lanvin line for H&M. I love the video. Great ideas that you can take away as you make your own videos. What is your favorite part or technique?
Valentine's Day 2011
What a day to get back to this blog. Watch this video on Lanvin at H & M to see some great ideas for dresses and accessories. The colors, the fit, the flare just give me more ideas for creations coming from us. Watch this now:

Way too long away!
New Year's resolution has passed, so this will be just, start fresh for 2010. I have been gathering fabric, reading lots of articles and viewing many websites and blogs online. In addition, Mom and I have collected materials for our upcycled couture venture. The ideas are populating too fast to keep up with, so will have to start with one and go from there.
I plan to create handbags from recycled coats and jackets. The materials, colors, and decorations to add to them is spectacular. Talk about the colors for this year: fuchsia, turquoise, and others. Have we got those covered. We have the fabric and ideas for some beautiful wedding bags, especially with summer weddings coming soon.
Next, I will be adding sites that I am following in this creative process. Have a great week. You will see photos of some of our creations soon.

Time to think of the holidays
Before you know it Thanksgiving and Christmas will be here. We have beautiful aprons for the holidays, great for gifts. In addition, you can dress your pets too. I am interested in doing recycled or upcycled wearable art as it is named now. With dreams of creating tantalizing designs, cute and cuddly outfits and beds for pets, accessories and clothing I really don't know where to start. You will soon be seeing some of our designs on our site and at Etsy. If there are other Bloggers interested in the same, send me a message. I will soon be contacting some of you. I love to read all of the latest mags on sewing and design. The sewing community has so much talent.
If you are a sewer who would like to sew some of our designs from your home, contact me and we can talk. We have the designs, fabric, ideas, just need time, more time, lots more time.

Welcome to Sew SuzyQ
This blog is devoted to the creation of sewing wearable art in purses, tote bags, aprons, pet paraphernalia, garment bags, belts and so on. Sometimes our designs are created from fabrics hot from purchase and other times, from our stash that constantly grows (we'd like it to shrink!). The we is my mother, Marilyn, and I. Sewing is our outlet from the overwhelming mass produced products found in your favorite department stores. In addition, we also design some projects from recycled jeans, clothes, buttons, jewelry, and other doodads found from previous visits to estate sales, garage sales, and even our own closets.
